about us

how it all began

A young woman with blonde hair and tattoos, sitting on a dirt pathway near a body of water in a wooded area, smiling and reading a book.

the little wild library started a long, long time ago. I just didn’t know it yet.

growing up, I loved all things nature and wildlife. just like every millennial girl, I wanted to be a vet or a marine biologist. I read endless books about every animal under the sun in faraway places I could only dream of visiting one day.

but then i grew up and forgot a lot about what made me…me.

when I hit the age of 30, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands so I went back to reading and soon found myself reminiscing on Zoobooks and science museum tours I had taken as a kid.

little did I know there was a world out there that I’d been missing. a world of books about all of the wild animals and places I’d been dreaming of for decades.

and now I’m hoping to find more people just like me. the people who threw being a kid away to the wind to be a “successful” adult. the people who love animals more than most people. the people who want their books to take them to wild, adventurous places…

together, i truly hope that this little wild bookstore of mine becomes your happy place.

to all the mini Steve (and Terri) Irwins, the Jane Goodallists, and most importantly, the every day people like me who want to make the world a better place for our plant & animal friends…welcome to the little wild library. I think you’ll like it here.
